Student Success- Core 4
In the Estacada School District's Strategic Plan, the Teaching and Learning Department leads the Student Success pillar. Our responsibilities include monitoring student proficiency in essential learning standards, tracking assignment completion, and overseeing attendance. To support this work, we focus on four key priority areas: the DuFour Model Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), Standards-Based Learning and Reporting, Continuous Improvement, and Inclusive Practices. Progress is measured through our Student Success Data Dashboard and Student Engagement Surveys.
Our Essential Learning Standards are derived from the Oregon Common Core Standards. PLC teams prioritize these standards by evaluating them against four key criteria:
-
Endurance: The knowledge and skills students are expected to retain beyond the current unit or course.
-
Leverage: The standard can be applied across multiple subjects or disciplines.
-
Preparedness for the Next Level: The standard is an essential prerequisite for success in the next course or grade level.
-
Success on High-Stakes Exams: The concept or skill is likely to appear on state assessments, college entrance exams, or occupational competency exams.
