Dear Estacada Community,
As we begin preparing for the 2026–2027 school year, I want to take a moment to thank our students, families, staff, and the entire Estacada community for your continued support of our schools.
Our schools are truly the heart of this community, and together we continue to make meaningful progress. Across the district, students are achieving at higher levels, staff are creating innovative learning experiences, career-connected learning opportunities continue to grow, and the systems supporting students and families are stronger than ever. These successes are possible because of the partnership between our schools and community.
As we look ahead to next year, we are excited to continue investing in learning opportunities at every grade level. At the elementary level, one of our most significant changes will be the reconfiguration of our schools. Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, River Mill Elementary will serve students in kindergarten through second grade, while Clackamas River Elementary will become home to all students in grades three through five. Moving from two K–5 schools to a K–2 and 3–5 model will allow us to better utilize our existing facilities, create more age-focused learning environments, and continue supporting our growing student population.
We know that for many students and families, this means a new school building and new routines. While change can feel uncertain, it also brings exciting opportunities. Each school will be hosting back-to-school open houses so students and families can explore their new schools, meet staff, and become familiar with their new learning environments before the first day of school. Our goal is to ensure every child feels confident, connected, and excited to start the new year.
At the secondary level, we are equally excited to continue expanding the opportunities available to our students through Career Technical Education. Building on the success of our manufacturing, automotive, agriculture, and electrical systems pathways, we will launch a new Forestry program in the 2026–2027 school year. This addition reflects our commitment to providing students with hands-on, career-connected learning experiences that align with our region's workforce needs while preparing them for college, careers, and life after graduation.

Al comenzar a prepararnos para el año escolar 2026–2027, quiero tomarme un momento para agradecer a nuestros estudiantes, familias, personal y a toda la comunidad de Estacada por su apoyo constante a nuestras escuelas.
Nuestras escuelas son el corazón de esta comunidad, y juntos seguimos logrando avances significativos. Estos éxitos son posibles gracias a la colaboración entre nuestras escuelas y la comunidad.
A partir del año escolar 2026–2027, la Primaria River Mill atenderá a los estudiantes de kínder a segundo grado, mientras que la Primaria Clackamas River será el hogar de todos los estudiantes de tercero a quinto grado. Pasar de dos escuelas de K–5 a un modelo de K–2 y 3–5 nos permitirá aprovechar mejor nuestras instalaciones existentes, crear entornos de aprendizaje más enfocados por edad y seguir apoyando a nuestra creciente población estudiantil.

En el nivel secundario, nos entusiasma igualmente seguir ampliando las oportunidades disponibles para nuestros estudiantes a través de la Educación Técnica y Vocacional. Aprovechando el éxito de nuestras especializaciones en manufactura, automoción, agricultura y sistemas eléctricos, lanzaremos un nuevo programa de ingeniería forestal este año escolar. School Supplies
River Mill Elementary Elementary School
Instead of shopping for individual items, we’re asking each family to contribute $30 per student. This allows us to purchase supplies in bulk, saving our families time and reducing the overall cost. To start the year, please ensure your child has the following items:
- Backpack
- Water bottle
- Headphones
- Shoes that are appropriate for PE days
- $30 for school supplies
Clackamas River Elementary School
Instead of shopping for individual supplies, we ask families to contribute $30 per student, allowing us to purchase items in bulk so every child starts the year prepared.

Bus Routes
Bus routes are Ready!
As we prepare for the 2026–27 school year, our transportation team has been working to finalize bus routes and stops for our families. Every year, some adjustments are necessary to accommodate new students, new families, and housing developments in our community.
This year, we also anticipate a period of adjustment as we implement our elementary school reconfiguration and welcome students into their new school communities. We appreciate everyone's patience as we work through the first days of school.
A Few Things to Know

Please allow extra time during the first days. Bus routes may take a little longer as drivers, students, and families become familiar with new routes and stops. Please allow 10–15 minutes of grace around your scheduled pickup and drop-off time during the first several days of school.

Elementary reconfiguration will mean some adjustments. With students now attending our K–2 and 3–5 schools, transportation patterns will look different for some families. We expect a period of adjustment as we learn what works best for our new configuration.

We will have some limited capabilities to bus students between the two elementary schools. Families who need to use this service must contact Transportation at 503-630-8606 or fill out the attached form to request service. First priority will be given to families with siblings at both elementary schools.

We will have extra staff available. We know the first days of school can feel a little hectic. We will have ample staff on hand to support students with pickup, buses, and walking routes, particularly during the first days of school.

Kindergarten and first-grade students need an adult present. For the safety of our youngest bus riders, a parent, guardian, or other designated adult must be present at the bus stop when a kindergarten or first-grade student is dropped off. If a kindergarten or first-grade student will be getting off the bus with an older sibling, an adult does not need to be present at the stop, but Transportation must receive confirmation from a parent or guardian in advance. Please contact Transportation at 503-630-8606 to make this arrangement.

Track your bus with Bus Compass. Families can use the Bus Compass app to track their student's bus and receive updates. We encourage families to download the app and familiarize themselves with it before the first day of school.
