Dr. Marty Grasmeder grew up in Philadelphia and moved out to the west coast with his family while entering college. Upon his move, he was accepted into Stanford University where he got his degree in Biology, followed by earning his MD from Penn State University.

After his university, Dr. Grasmeder held a residency in pediatrics at OHSU. Dr. Grasmeder did his fellowship in children's kidneys at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Later in his career, Dr. Grasmeder decided to expand his calling and took a role as a Pediatrician in Sika, Alaska.His service extended to local indigenous tribes and he was the only pediatrician on an island town of 8,500. His career grew and flourished while in Alaska, however, his heart was in the Northwest.

After nearly 20 years serving rural populations in Alaska, Dr. Grasmeder returned to the west coast as Multnomah County’s Medical Director. His impact at the county lasted for nearly 7 years until he semi-retired.

Now he is returning to his roots in rural healthcare to help expand care for everyone and to improve the social fabric and network to help people thrive in their communities while creating healthy communities.

When Dr. Grasmeder is not working; he enjoys spending his time fishing, learning about European history, spending time with his family and children, riding bikes, and woodworking.

Andrew grew up in rural, Holmes County, Ohio, home to the world’s largest Amish population. He did most of his undergraduate training at The Ohio State University. He and his wife moved to the Portland area where he ultimately earned his bachelor’s from the University of Western States. He then completed his formal education at Pacific University where he earned his master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

He enjoys the broad scope of family medicine and is looking forward to returning to a rural community to practice. Having studied chiropractic medicine for a number of years prior to PA school, Andrew has an interest in the roles that diet and lifestyle play in our overall health. He also has a special interest in dermatologic conditions and end-of- life care.

Andrew and his wife moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2010 and, along with their three children, now consider it home. They enjoy being involved in their local church and can often be found hiking, backpacking and doing other outdoor activities. On more leisurely days he can also be found playing keyboard and enjoying the local food and coffee culture.

Candice Hunter grew up in Boring, OR., and has lived in Estacada for the past eight years. Candice received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Mt. Hood Community College and began working with Tsuga Community Commission and Providence Medical Center. During this time, Candice received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oregon Health & Science University.

After graduating, Candice enrolled at Frontier Nursing University in Hyden Kentucky, and received her Master of Science in Nursing in December of 2017. In 2018, she began working for Multnomah County as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Candice specializes in prenatal care, cryotherapy, joint injections, endometrial biopsy, suturing, EKGs, transgender care, psychiatric medication management, and bedside abdominal ultrasound.When Candice is not working, she enjoys leatherworking, running, traveling with her husband, and spending the summers road tripping around Oregon with her daughter who competes in high school rodeo.

Ivy grew up in the Methow Valley and Okanogan Valley in Washington, after a short period of living in Los Angeles, CA she moved back to the Pacific Northwest. She lived in Portland until 2015 after which she moved to Corbett, Oregon where she and her family have a small farm.

Ivy has worked in the nursing field for the last 20 years, most of her time as an RN in intensive care. She received her Family Nurse Practitioner in the Spring of 2021. She worked for a short duration at East Multnomah County Health Center prior to coming to Orchid.

She enjoys providing continuing and holistic health care while practicing as a primary care provider (PCP) in family practice. Working as a PCP provides a unique opportunity to support people and their families on their journey through life. Ivy strives to work with each person to optimize their health and wellness, partnering with them and their families in their health journey towards wellness of body, mind, and spirit.

When Ivy is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, being with friends, being outdoors - gardening, backpacking, car camping, or sitting still – experiencing with all the senses – the beauty of this world and life.

Laura was born and raised in Anchorage Alaska. She spent her practicum and internship working with low income clients and college students before moving to Oregon in 2010. For the past 7 years she has worked in an integrated healthcare setting with inpatient and outpatient populations of individuals struggling with mental health challenges.

Her passion is finding what makes each individual function optimally and working with them to develop strategies to maintain their optimum balance. Outside of work Laura enjoys running,hiking, walking and yoga as well as spending time with her family.
